:: Architecture :: Buildings :: Galatea Winery

The Galatea Winery in Aroyo Grande, CA was designed to make use of innovative green building technologies in a timeless style. The walls are made of an advanced structural straw bale system while the roof is made of integral radiant solar concrete roof panels, both invented by Integrated Structures.

The winery was designed to be constructed in phases. Currently, only a small portion of the building has been built. When completed in full, the winery will likely be the largest straw bail building in the world.

I worked on the Galatea Winery with Integrated Structures (http://www.integratedstructures.com/) an architecture, structural engineering, and construction management company committed to a comprehensive approach to designing and building with the goals of achieving timeless beauty and environmental sustainability. I worked for ISI from August 2008 to January 2010.
